Proceedings

The Eighty First annual session of the Piedmont Conference of the Original Free Will Baptist convened at Amazing Grace Free Will Baptist Church in Thomasville, North Carolina on July 27, 2024 with the Reverend Hillis Burton as the host pastor.  

The business session started at 10:00 am on July 27, 2024 with the opening hymn, “I’ll Be Satisfied”. The Conference called to order by the Rev. Audie Tucker. Welcome of  Conference was given by Host Pastor Rev Hillis Burton. Devotions were given by Brother Lawrence Burton Titled: Being devoted to God” Scripture: I Timothy 4:8

The Roll of the Churches and Ministers were taken by Clerk Shannon Barnes there were 7 Churches in attendance with 15 ministers present.

Executive Board:

Rev. Scotty Sellars opened in prayer

Camp Meeting:  

Rev. Hillis Burton volunteered Amazing Grace FWB Church.

It will be 8/10/23 @ 10:00. Rev. Tim Burton will plan the singing and message.

OFWB Convention Revising Articles of Faith and Church Covenant:

The Committee is still working on both the Articles of Faith and the Church Covenant

OUTREACH: 

We spoke on praying and voting on several members from each church to start an outreach to help the churches and communities around each church grow. For us to come together and help with those outreach activities, and fundraisers for our churches. Which will be brought up and decided on at the next Meeting in Oct.

March 1st Life Conference Training on “Love Abound”

Convention Services – Bro. Rickey Warren Spoke about unity and How in Revelations it speaks of making All Things New

FWB Press – Brother John Spoke and was thanking God and the conference that the FWB Press is now Debt Free

Resolutions 

We here by resolve to give Amazing Grace FWB Church a rising vote of thanks for hosting the 81st Annual Session of the OFWB Piedmont Conference.

Message by: Moderator Rev. Tim Burton, Scriptures; Romas 9:17, Galatians 3:8 / 3:22.  Title of Message: “This Is More Than A Book”, Also Read John 1 The Word Is With God and The Word was God.

Everyone adjourned to the fellowship hall for a wonderful meal that had been prepared, thank you  Amazing Grace FWB Church for your hospitality.
