BI-VOCATIONAL PASTOR JOB DESCRIPTION

Piney Grove OFWB Baptist Church was established in 1911. We are in the Western District of the OFWB Convention. We are located approximately three miles east of Kenly, NC, conveniently located near I-95 and NC Highway 222. Church services are primarily traditional, and average weekly attendance is 40. A church parsonage is available if needed. We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Pastor to lead our congregation. In this role, you will be responsible for providing spiritual guidance, teaching biblical principles, and fostering a strong sense of community within our church. Your leadership will inspire and equip members to grow in their faith and serve others.

General Responsibilities:

· Present well-organized, Bible-based sermons and lessons on Sunday and Wednesday that edify, challenge, and encourage the church as well as promote the passionate worship of God

· Uphold with integrity the doctrines, constitution, and by-laws of Piney Grove OFWB Church, and adhere to the OFWB Articles of Faith.

· Serve as the spiritual and administrative leader of the church and work in a spirit of cooperation with the Deacons, Trustees, and other ministries to meet the needs of the congregation.

· Provide pastoral care and support to individuals and families during times of need. This includes visiting the sick and providing support during times of grief or other traumatic events. Officiate at weddings, funerals, memorial services, baby dedications, etc.

· Assist in the implementation of church programs, activities, and events that promote spiritual growth and community engagement.

· Collaborate with church leaders and volunteers to develop and implement church initiatives.

· Encourage and mentor church members in their spiritual journey and involvement in ministry.

· Preside over business meetings.

· Oversee the administration of church ordinances, such as Baptism, Communion and Washing of the Saints Feet.

· Actively participate in community outreach efforts to serve and connect with the local community.

Qualifications and Skills:

· Preferably a licensed and/or ordained OFWB clergy. Pastoral experience is also preferred.

· Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

· Leadership and organizational skills.

· Passion for faith and a commitment to serving others.

· Knowledge of theology and biblical studies.
